She has published multiple peer-reviewed articles, chapters, and abstracts.
We are very excited to have Dr. Harum as our Medical Director and she lends a wide range of experience with children in a variety of disabilities. She will be a valuable asset to our ongoing mission to provide excellent care for families with special needs children.

Dr. Hines is the wife of Andy and mother of two children ages 15 and 13. Her son is diagnosed with autism. She is committed to the tireless pursuit of helping find answers to healing for our children as well as her own.

Janet L. Presson, R.N., M.Ed. Owner/President A Small Miracle Inc. 1-800-760-0665 Janet Presson is the founder and president of A Small Miracle, Inc., an agency providing services for children and adults with autism and other special needs. She is also the mother of a son with autism and has spent the past twelve years researching and implementing both biomedical and educational interventions for her son and others. She was a presenter at the Behavioral Intervention Conference in Spartanburg, SC and has appeared as a guest lecturer at local colleges, parent support groups and for groups of nursing students and law enforcement interns. She also provides training for counselors at Camp G.R.A.C.E., a summer day camp for children with autism that her agency cosponsors with A.E. Finley YMCA in Raleigh. Janet is the founder and past president of the Wayne County Chapter of the Autism Society of North Carolina, past president and member of the Board of Directors of Autism Treatment Options, past member of the Board of Directors for the Mariposa School for Children with Autism, and is currently a member of the Board of Directors for Special Olympics North Carolina. She is also active in lobbying at both the federal and state levels for the removal of thimerosal/mercury from vaccines. She received her B.S. degree in General Experimental Psychology from the University of South Carolina, her B.S. degree in Nursing from Hawaii Pacific University, and her M.Ed. degree in Counseling from Springfield College. |
